Bookmark, definitely ^_^
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a bookmark (that doesn't mean that I'm all ordered and stuff... I usually use anything around as a bookmark, from receipts to flyers :D)
ReplyDeleteIf anything I'd use a bookmark, I hate creasing my books and when my mum borrows mine that's the worse. Lol - I currently don't use a bookmark or dogear and I always finish on a chapter. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway Brigit. Awesome as always. Congrats on hitting 500 followers, you've worked hard. :)

Bookmark of course! It would kill me to hurt my book like that. :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching 500 followers

Definitely a bookmark! I use almost everything (pencil, clips, comb, ...) as a bookmark but I would never hurt my book with dog-ear.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to 500 followers!

Bookmark, I hate to do anything to my books but read them. They all look so pretty sitting on the shelves =)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making it to 500! Hope you keep having fun with it!

Birgit! Congrats on such a fantastic number of followers!!! And thank you for such generous giveaway! I used to dog-ear my pages but not anymore. Bless Book Depository, they give you a bookmark with each book, so now I have a house full of them to use :) I really don't like damaging books in any way, so try to read them as gently as possible.

congrats and thanks for the giveaway ! I definitely prefer bookmars, i have a lot of them !
ReplyDeleteellana_(at)hotmail(dot)fr
Usually, I don't use anything. I just try to stop at a memorable page number like 100 or at the end of a chapter. I haven't dog eared a book since high school. And if I do use a bookmark, I don't use a proper bookmark. I use random things like pens (most often), pieces of papers etc. I have a friend who uses money as a bookmark. He said it's to motivate him to finish a book LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, congratulations on reaching 500 followers!
lincalc at gmail dot com
I stopped dog-earing my precious books at a young age. Cannot stand to find them now! I use a bookmark if I have a book in my hands and when I use my kindle!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteBookmark of course! I have obsession with bookmarks. I have a huge collection. I have never use 'dog-ear'.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Bookmark - especially bookthongs or the magnetic ones.
ReplyDeleterickimc[at]aol[dot]com
Definitely, definitely bookmarks! I own quite a lot of them, actually! I only have a few in use at any time (that I allow anyone in the house to use) and then, I retire them! :P I have always hated dog-earring books. Why, why would you want to ruin a book like that?? I don't have a problem with cracked spines (In fact, I like them! They make a book look loved and well-read, though I never crack them on purpose), but I have always hated dog-ears. Fortunately, no-one to whom I've lent a book has ever dog-eared it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on reaching 500 followers and thank you very much for the giveaway! :)

Congrats on hitting 500...wishing you many, many more!
ReplyDeleteI personally prefer bookmark so I don't mess up the pretty book! My daughter destroys her books by shoving them in her bag and dog earing them and it drives me crazy! To each their own I guess...as long as your reading!!!
Thanks for the chance!
mmafsmith at gmail dot com
Dogear...I am bad. Especially when I do it with library books. Gasp!!!
ReplyDeletelittlegray88 at yahoo dot com
Oh that question...I am so torn, I hat dogearing, but bookmarks just don't stay put, so I hate them as well. I typically prefer to finish a book before i have to put either in :) I do dogear though...:)
ReplyDeletelibbilogs{at}gmail{dot}com
Thank you so much! =)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 500 followers =)
Definitely Bookmarks! I have one which is so pretty xD

Always a bookmark. I like my books to be in their best condition possible. If I don't have an actual bookmark ready I will use whatever I can find, like a receipt or just a random piece of paper :) Thank you for this awesome giveaway and congrats on all your followers!

Well done on the 500 followers, book mark for me I like my books to remain in good condition, sometimes I just grab a receipt or even a photograph to use as a bookmark even though I seem to have gathered a collection of The Book Depository bookmarks along the way.

Bookmark, definitely, even if it's just a scrap of paper, a train ticket, or a receipt. I would never dog-ear a book, nor lend a book to someone who dog-ears! If I have no bookmark on hand, I try to memorise the page number.

Answer - Oh definitely book mark! I'm a little OCD like that, I can't see a book being bent, creased, or pages being dog eared :( it hurts my inner nerd so book mark all the way! :)
Congrats and thanks for the generous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI do neither. I'm really, really good with numbers. Like Rain Man good. So I just remember the page number and the line number I'm on LOL.

I'm definitely a bookmark kind of girl :) I really hate turning the pages :(
Both! LOL I use bookmarks to control where I last stopped my reading, and a very small, very delicate dog-ear to mark my favorite parts. :) (but that's the harshest treatment my books ever get LOL)
ReplyDeletekah_cherub at hotmail dot com
Awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI admit it...i dog ear the pages! Only to my own books though, i try and find something (because i own no bookmarks)when borrowing books, usually my daily train ticket. When at home i usually lay the book down on the page im reading. :s

I used to dog ear & make highlights in my books. But now that I give my hardbound books away when I'm finished, I use bookmarks. I even take the covers off while I read them, so they still look new when I'm done :-)
ReplyDeleteloveofbooks-blog(at)yahoo(dot)com
Def bookmarks! Can't stand the thought of bending my pages...and if one accidentily gets bent it drives me crazy! But for some reason, I am a spine cracker....I know it's bad of me...lol.

ReplyDeleteYour blog is doing so well! Congratulations, and thanks for the generous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid dog-earing is only allowed is the book is old already and mistreated before. Otherwise: bookmark!
I've never seen the appeal with dog-earing. I like to keep my books looking nice and bending the pages never looks nice. I don't use bookmarks either, though, since I always stop at the end of chapters, I just remember the next chapter or what page I'm on. Anyways, thank you for the opportunity! :)

ReplyDeletenamomma@hotmail.com
Well it seems like I will be hated by the majority. One of my favourite things to do with a brand new book is to break the spine. I love my books and don't treat them badly, I'm just not a gentle lover (of books!!!) I guess.
ReplyDeleteI have killed many books in my life, but I always buy more copies so at least I'm doing the business some good, right? Now I'm dipping my toes into the world of the eBook, the paperback business might just take a tumble in profits...though the rainforests can relex a bit...

I prefer a bookmark but I have been known to fold over the top of a page to mark my place when a bookmark hasn't been handy. Congratulations on 500 followers!!
ReplyDeleteriverboat38@hotmail.com
That is a no brainer for me.
ReplyDeleteI like to keep my books in a good condition and I freak out if they get dog eared or left lying open so the spine suffers.
Use bookmarks people ! There are thousands of them given away.

ReplyDeleteOkay.......... I tend to be really sloppy and put whatever is at hand to use as a bookmark. i sometimes use my library card, any card availible, a pen (yeah, i know it's really bad for the spind of a hard cover), another book (hey, it works) and other items. I'm very lazy. But before, I would doggy ear the book. When I saw how ugly my books looked with the doggy ears, I stopped doing that.

When I didn't have bookmarks, I used to dog ear the pages but now I use bookmarks. Or the receipts from the book order(s). But that does mean I'm super careful with my books. I like to see a little damage. Yellow pages, marked pages, cracked spine... Stuff like that. I don't really mind.
