I don't have a trunk- just the cargo area. Currently in my cargo area: a cooler, a jug of ice melter, a mini snow shovel, a scraper, a couple of umbrellas, canvas bags to use for shopping, rubber car mats for the floor of the car, and a ramp to enable the dogs to climb into the car more easily. Oh, and a blanket. And yes, there is still PLENTY of room for shopping trips!
