In My Mailbox (21)

It hasn't been the first time I ordered at AwesomeBooks and that has admittedly been a while ago. Earlier this year I even posted about how the shipping charges are a joke for some countries (like mine) though for some hard to get books it's still a good option.

Now take a wild guess what I found out? They made some seriously amazing changes to their shipping charges! If you order one book there is a shipping fee depending on where you live. If you order more than one then shipping is FREE! Admittedly there are still a few countries, classified as "rest of the world" where you need to pay € 3,49 but that is for ANY size of order, no matter if just one book or ten. Sounds good? I thought so too (especially seeing how I didn't have to pay for shipping, teehee) and went on a lil' shopping spree.

So, for my Tea & Books Reading Challenge I got two fat tomes - The Passage (Justin Cronin) and Under The Dome (Stephen King). Both are really daunting, but that's what the challenge is for!

Then there is my Dean Koontz Reading Challenge and seeing how I read his early novels all in German translation, many maaany years ago, I now have the English Originals to delve into. I bought two Omnibus editions with five of his books - Cold Fire / The Mask / The Face Of Fear and The Vision / Hideaway.

That's not all. Well, I told you I did a lil' shopping, didn't I?
So I also bought the Penguin Edgar Allan Poe and the Penguin Sherlock Holmes books, both heavy tomes including all their stories. No idea when I'll be reading those, but I always wanted to and generally it's just good to know they are now on my TBR piles.

In the meantime I ordered a few more books there, though they haven't arrived yet. Guess you could say I'm making sure that there will be an IMM post every week, ha!

Thanks to The Story Siren for hosting the IMM meme!

  2. I picked up The Passage this week, but decided I didn't want to cart it into work and back. Maybe one for the holidays! I think I put the Sherlock Holmes books on my Kindle.
